The M&A market for Digital Marketing seems to be getting stronger and more interesting as companies look to build their AI capabilities. Across all four sectors, the pattern is the same: buyers are acquiring layers of an AI stack they cannot build fast enough on their own, whether that is the agent itself, the identity data that feeds it, or the audience it engages.
Highlighted deals include:
In Digital Marketing, Publicis acquired 160over90 from WME Group for $500 million in April. The global sports and culture agency is being folded into Publicis Sports and backed with Epsilon data, making live sports and fandom Publicis's next big bet to counter media fragmentation.
In Marketing Technology, Salesforce agreed to acquire Fin, formerly Intercom, for approximately $3.6 billion in June. Fin's AI agent resolves 76% of support tickets, giving Agentforce an AI-native customer agent rather than one built in-house.
In Marketing Data, Publicis acquired LiveRamp in May for $38.50 per share, a 30% premium, valuing the business at over $2 billion. LiveRamp's RampID identity infrastructure will be paired with the Epsilon marketplace to power AI marketing agents.
In Retail & eCommerce, Insider One acquired Bluecore in May for approximately $1 billion. Bluecore's Transparent ID Network processes over 10 billion daily shopper events across more than 400 US enterprise brands, giving Insider One a retail identity layer for its agentic commerce platform.
On the financing side, capital is tracking the same themes. Digital Marketing investment continues to center on the creator economy and AI-driven creative production. In Marketing Technology, Sierra's $950 million raise in May from Tiger Global and GV led a broader wave of capital behind agentic customer engagement. Marketing Data drew the largest round of the half, with AppsFlyer raising $1 billion in June from Google, Meta, Unity, and Moloco, a bet on independent measurement as AI takes over more of how media is bought. Retail & eCommerce funding remains focused on unified commerce and fulfillment infrastructure.
