AGC Partners has published our Marina & Boating Software Q1 2026 Market Report.

The global recreational boating economy represents $230 billion in activity, with $57 billion in annual marina revenue and over 140 million active boaters worldwide. That scale obscures a striking operational reality – only ~25% of marinas are digitized today, fewer than 10% operate on a fully integrated system, and 75% still manage inventory on clipboards, radios, pen, paper, and phone calls. The market is converging around two powerful forces in response.

The first is institutionalization. Private equity is consolidating the marina landscape at scale. Blackstone's $5.6 billion acquisition of Safe Harbor and the April 2026 merger of Suntex and Windward Marina Group are emblematic of a broader trend. As large operators aggregate assets, they require modernized systems, operational transparency, and cross-property analytics. Analog workflows are no longer viable at an institutional scale.

The second is purpose-built software adoption. The marina and boating software category represents an estimated $1.4 billion TAM, and the industry is accelerating rapidly toward modern operating systems. Cloud-native Marina OS platforms, AI and agentic automation, yield and pricing optimization, and consumer-grade boater experiences are replacing fragmented point solutions. Vendors that connect marina OS infrastructure with boater demand through shared data and integrated workflows are capturing disproportionate value.

M&A activity has been selective historically, with deal flow centered on boater network consolidation, Marina OS buildouts, embedded fintech, and increasingly AI-native capabilities. However, recent transactions point to an acceleration in PE and strategic interest in marina related software, supporting a strong outlook for 2026 and beyond.
