Ten years ago, I sat across the table from Fred when he represented the buyer of my last Company. I realized then the importance of having a good investment banker as an advisor and knew that if I had the opportunity to do it again, I would want him on my side. Recently, when the opportunity arose, I called on Fred and the AGC team and thanks to their efforts, we were able to achieve a successful exit of Invention Machine in under 4 months and at a premium valuation. A great deal of that credit goes to the fact that Fred and I were joined at the hip in developing a strategy throughout the process. They helped us achieve alignment and a terrific outcome among all constituencies, crafting the messaging to ideally position the story to the buyers and most importantly guided the Board and management with the right advice at the right time. I hope we get to do it again and that it doesn’t take another ten years.

This was a transaction that required persistence and patience, and AGC fielded a great team headed by Dennis Rourke to get the job done. Never failing in energy, or the necessary humor, Dennis was able to find a route through the complexities of this deal, and get a good result for the company’s shareholders.

Marcus Lovell Smith, CEO of SensAble Technologies
